This week, Nu promoted its Brazil manager to CEO of Brazil, freeing up co-founder, Cristina Junqueira, to focus on Mexico and Colombia. Here is the important section from the press release:

Nubank’s co-founder and Chief Growth Officer, Cristina Junqueira, remains responsible for the company’s overall growth, with a redoubled focus on international expansion, particularly around scaling the company’s Mexican operation, which already reached 4.3 million of customers, as well as in from Colombia, where Nu has just obtained its license to operate as a regulated financial institution.

Ms. Junqueira is a force to be reckoned with. Watch out Mexico and Colombia! This is great news as the company starts to get really serious about ramping up these two geographies. Hopefully, they can replicate the same sort of success they had in Brazil.

Second, David Velez, CEO and co-founder, was named one of the top 5 CEOs in the world by The Economist. His fellow winners included Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg. Not bad company.
